Seeing as I recently bought a BMW I'm looking to find a good forum to solve my problems for me. I'm also curious about joining the BMW CCA (or other BMW club). Do any of you have experience with the BMWCCA? Also looking for a good BMW shop in the Bay Area if any of you have a recommendation.

Have a mean looking M1 ProCar for your time:

Pelican Parts is a great forum for information, advice and other such things. You can buy parts from there as well. I highly recommend it. It isn't strictly BMW, but even so, go check them out!

I think it really depends on what you've bought. Drop some deets!

I mean they cover Porsche, BMW and volvo I believe but everyone there is very knowledgeable and they've all done work at some point so there's plenty of experience to be shared.

Depends on the particular model. I frequent bimmerpost, e46 fanatics, m3 forum, and e9x outpost. I generally only use the forums to look for parts or common model issues before purchasing. I am also a member of the BMW CCA thanks to another oppo member, but I have yet to get out and do anything with them.

BMW CCA Member here. I don't frequent the forums largely because I get tired of the same threads over and over.

BMW CCA membership is 100% worth it for the help you'll receive from Mike Miller. His tech talk column in Roundel magazine is great, the fact that you can email him questions about your broken car and he'll actually respond quickly is even better.

Bimmerforums is good, there's a lot of E36 love there. A different scene mostly for modified rides or track cars. Bimmerfest has a more mature crowd for the stock enthusiast. BMWCCA is a great club, I have a few friends that are part of it and the parts discounts can be great plus additional on a new BMW when the time comes.

Yep, worth it for Roundel alone. Plus you get discounts on parts at the dealer by being a member. There's also a discount if you use AVIS.

It's not the best overall, but if you need model-specific info, this is a decent place to start. BMW also put the same M54B30 in the 330i, so if you have engine problems (CCV replacement, cooling issues, etc.) check out e46fanatics.com. That board has a ton of info. It's been a lifesaver on my 3 series cars.
